My latest hyperfixation salad, artwork I'm coveting, and summer SHOES!!!
The Whatever Letter is a weekly-ish collection of things I'm buying, making and loving, loosely tied together with the common thread of great design.
This. Salad. Changed. My. LIFE.
I’m basically a professional salad maker, no joke. I love salads so much. They’re all I want to eat (besides pasta, obv). Anytime I’m invited anywhere it’s the dish I volunteer to bring, I have several that I rotate for our meals throughout the week, they’re just the best. All this blabbering is to situate myself as somewhat of a salad expert so that you believe me when I tell you this legitimately altered my salad standards. It’s so good. If you come to my house this summer, I promise that you’ll be eating this chopped asparagus and edamame salad with fried halloumi croutons and hot honey mustard dressing. Rounding up some really amazing artwork I’ve saved lately.
Mosaic artist Kateryna Ivanenko creates these absolutely insane pieces, this one was for a restaurant installation and it’s so incredibly detailed.
This video of her process is so cool to watch.
I really dig the balance of playfulness and poignancy in Amanda Jones' paintings.

James Needham creates digital collages using his photos and I have to say I’ve done a double take multiple times to be extra sure they aren’t paintings. I love the composition of his pieces and how they feel a little bit Wes Anderson adjacent. Would be very happy to have this one in my home.

I had the day off yesterday so I window shopped (not sure if it’s still called that when you try things on too and also look at things on your phone) and the way I want like…ten new pairs of shoes now is not okay. I have two weddings coming up so I gotta pick SOMETHING.
I mean.

Not sure what’s happening at Banana Republic but I’ll take it.
So classic and dainty and just absolute chef’s kiss via Mango (three colours too!).
Alternatively and equally as chic, these from H&M.
Okay that’s all! Have a nice weekend :)
